History of MCOFU
Founded to protect, represent, and empower Massachusetts correctional officers. A union built on the principle that those who serve deserve a voice.
Our foundation
Built on principle and purpose
The story of MCOFU
The Massachusetts Correctional Officers Fraternal Union was born from a simple truth: those who stand watch deserve to be heard. In the decades since our founding, we have fought for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the dignity that every correctional officer has earned through their service. We exist because our members matter.

The years that shaped us
From a small group of dedicated officers to a powerful voice for thousands, MCOFU has grown through commitment and persistence. Every milestone marks a moment when our union stood for what was right.

The founding
MCOFU was established by correctional officers who believed their voices mattered. A small group of men and women took a stand for fair treatment and dignity.

Today
Ongoing advocacy
MCOFU continues fighting for safe conditions, fair pay, and the respect our members deserve. The work continues because the mission remains unchanged since our founding day.
